The Pyrenees Mountain Film Festival Arrives in Benasque: The Major Adventure Film Event in the Heart of the Pyrenees
The Pyrenees Mountain Film Festival (PMFF) confirms its official stop in the Benasque Valley, one of the most iconic locations for mountaineering worldwide. As part of its 2026 tour, the festival will bring a selection of the best mountain, adventure, and nature films to the peaks of the Alto Ésera.
The PMFF tour will land in Benasque to screen a carefully curated selection of short films from the Official Section. After its stops in Huesca, Barbastro, and Boltaña, the festival arrives in the valley to connect with local audiences, mountaineers, and visitors.
What You'll See in Benasque
The Benasque session will capture the essence of an edition marked by challenging climbs and female voices. Among the productions included in the 2026 tour are:
Impactful short films: Stories of overcoming adversity and adrenaline, filmed in extreme environments such as the Arctic, the Himalayas, and, of course, the Pyrenees themselves.
Sports specialties: The program includes disciplines that are part of the valley's DNA, such as climbing, skiing, and environmental conservation.
Location and atmosphere: The screening becomes a meeting point for the Benasque Valley mountain community, offering a spectacular visual experience in an environment where nature is the true protagonist.
It's a unique opportunity to see this year's official poster (a work by photographer Chechu Arribas, which captures the essence of dry tooling in the Benasque Hospital area) brought to life on screen.
